Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

I have been in the market for a new translucent setting powder for a while now. I’ve tried powders that looked white, tinted nude, and even lavender. I’ve tried loose powders and pressed powders. I’ve tried skipping powder and using setting sprays. Finally, after years of searching, I have found the perfect powder!!! I have finally tried this new (to me) holy grail product: Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder.

This is the travel-sized container!

The travel-sized container that I bought was $23.00 for 0.33 oz. The full-sized version is $38 for a full ounce, which is a much better deal. Either way, though, it’s pretty expensive for a powder. However, it is well worth it! This powder is lightly tinted, so it doesn’t leave you looking pasty or ghostly like some white translucent  powders (although, keep in mind, I’m pretty pale – still, I haven’t had the best of luck with the MUFE version).

So, should you buy it?

Pros: The color blends well into the skin. The finish is flawless and does not look powdery at all! It blurs imperfections really well and sets the makeup in order to prevent it from migrating or melting throughout the day. This is absolutely what I’ve been looking for: a product that will enhance my makeup’s appearance and lasting power.

Cons: It’s pretty expensive. However, you don’t need to use much powder at once. In fact, the coverage is pretty surprising for a translucent powder. It really mutes the look of highlighter, blush, and bronzer, so I’ve found that I’ve been applying those with a heavier hand so that they still show up underneath this finishing powder.

The bottom line is…if you use powder, you need this in your life.
