Clarins Light Lip Comfort Oil

So many beauty bloggers have been singing the praises of Clarins Light Lip Comfort Oil, so I just had to get it and try it for myself! You can get this from Sephora for $26. I went for the color “Red Berry” (seen below).

Unfortunately, this product did not work well for me. It’s so pretty in the container, but it did not result in even a little tint of color on my lips. It looked completely clear on me, which was my first disappointment. Also, I expect an oil-based product to glide on smoothly and not feel sticky at all, like the Sephora Lip Oil. This felt really sticky to me! I asked my very patient fiance to kiss me and tell me if my lips were too sticky. He obliged and then immediately wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. His face contorted into a repulsed scowl and he said, “Yep. Really sticky.”

I feel bad for being such a downer, but I also disliked the doe foot applicator. It was enormous! This made it even harder to apply evenly, and it just seemed like that type of applicator was really only made for Lisa Rinna or Kylie Jenner.

Finally, my lips actually felt DRIER and flakier after using this product. How is that even possible? It’s been a really long time since I’ve disliked a product this much.

I hope you don’t mind how negative this post has been, but I wanted to be completely honest about my experience. So many other people have loved this product, so maybe it just doesn’t work for my body chemistry.

Have you had any experience with this product?  Are there any other lip oils that you love?

Thanks for reading!
