Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette

I am a sucker for pretty eyeshadow palettes even though I seem to always gravitate towards just 3 or 4 shades even in a big palette. However, I still couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette. This palette can be purchased from Sephora and similar retailers for $42.

First, this palette is absolutely gorgeous. It’s a blend of neutral and more dramatic shades, and it also has several cool toned and warm toned shades. I feel like this palette allows you to explore so many different types of looks. You can probably tell from the picture that I use the two neutral shimmery cool toned shades the most, but I do enjoy shaking it up and making my eyes look more dramatic too, especially with that beautiful purple shade near the middle that really brings out my green eyes.

The bolder shades are very pigmented, so it’s hard to build them up gradually like I’d prefer. Instead, you have to just be careful when applying since it’s going to be an immediate high-pigment amount that you’re putting on your lids. I will also admit that the texture of these shadows are not all the same. Some seemed more buttery and others seemed drier. The drier ones tended to be the bolder ones unfortunately, and this made them a bit harder to blend.

Overall, this is a beautiful palette. I was a bit disappointed that the bold shades weren’t as easy to use as I hoped, but they’re still very workable. I’m glad I made this purchase and I look forward to my continued experimentation with it.

Thanks for reading!
