Haute Couture Society is evolving! As of today, I’ve started a YouTube channel. Here’s my FIRST VIDEO!
Part of why I wanted to do a YouTube channel is to infuse this brand with a bit more of my personality. There are certain things that I can convey better in a different medium.
But also, I tend to really hide behind my keyboard. I’m very self-conscious about my appearance. I hate photos and videos, and that’s something I really want to change. I know that posting things online is like opening myself up for public ridicule, and I need to be okay with that. I’m hoping that this endeavor will help me connect a little more with myself and will help me be comfortable again in my own skin.
Anyway, thanks to all of you who have been on this journey with me. I really appreciate it! There will be plenty of blog posts and videos to come!
I have a weakness for fine things. I adore designer items, luxury skincare/makeup, and well-crafted clothes and accessories. Of course, a lot of these things are a bit out of my budget sometimes. Thankfully, I’ve discovered Poshmark, a resale site for designer goods and other fashion.
I am so in love with this site! In the above picture, you can see my GORGEOUS new Chanel tote. It’s just perfect! Using Poshmark, you can find designer items that are new or gently used, and you’ll be paying a fraction of the original price. I’ve seen bags that cost over $1000 go for a few hundred. I’ve also seen shoes that were originally a few hundred dollars go for under $100. In my case, the Chanel bag I purchased was originally a VIP giveaway to select Chanel customers. So, I essentially purchased someone else’s gift with purchase – but that’s totally fine with me because I never could have afforded that originally purchase, and now I have a cute Chanel tote bag!
If you love both bargains and designer goods, you should definitely check out Poshmark! (And if you decide to sign up, please consider using my username “tiffyrenee82” as your referral).
Have you purchased anything on Poshmark? What did you get? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!
Spring is finally here! It’s felt so nice to finally be able to wear capris and sandals at work. As someone who is always warm, I’m tempted to wear capris in winter but I get a lot of side-eye when I do, so I try to dress appropriately. But Spring and Summer are my seasons!
Naturally, as the seasons change, I find myself needing new shoes. Well, “need” might be a strong word, but I’m sure you understand the feeling. I’ve been shopping and I’ve noticed a major trend right now: strappy sandals this spring that have thicker straps. Here are some that I found from DSW that I’m definitely considering purchasing:
These first shoes are the Sam Edelman Susie Sandal which are $69.99. I love the medium blue suede because they’re definitely not similar to anything I already own. These would be so cute paired with a white sundress.
These next shoes would have been so cute for Easter. They’re the Marc Fisher Kickoff Wedge Sandal which are also $69.99. The light pink shade is gorgeous, and the ruffle is sweet and feminine.
I love red! It’s sensual and vibrant and makes everyone take notice. That’s probably why I’ve got my eyes on the Unisa Diane Sandal which retails for only $39.99
This next one is pretty whimsical. It’s the Crown Vintage Accumoli Sandal for $39.99. I don’t know why, but I’m drawn to the contrasting straps. Since they’re all neutrals, they can be easily paired with other neutrals. It’s eclectic but fun!
This final shoe is my favorite and not just because it’s pink! This is the Diba Gizmo Flat Sandal which is only $29.99 I love the structure of this shoe and its dramatic front bow. The ribbing on the sides is also a nice textural detail.
Are you excited for Spring? What wardrobe changes will you be making? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!
I’m so excited that it’s almost Halloween! Autumn is my favorite season because it contains my birthday, cooler weather, and Halloween. In honor of Halloween, I’m watching a horror movie every day in the month of October. Most of them, so far, have provided me with some fun, campy entertainment! I don’t know why, but I think I love the cheesy B-movies just as much as the “good” horror movies.
Anyway, Halloween also gives me a reason to decorate my tiny apartment, which is something I wanted to share with all of you. Here are three pictures of some of my favorite decorations. The first two were purchased at JoAnn Fabrics and the glittery pumpkins were purchased at At Home.
It’s actually really easy to decorate on a budget. Joann Fabrics and At Home are just two stores with great deals on decorations. One place that also has cute and cheap Holiday decorations is Walgreens. I saw some cute festive plastic pumpkins there yesterday, and lots of my small Christmas decorations are from there.
Where do you like to buy your Holiday Homegoods? Be sure to let me know in the comments section!
I am so picky when it comes to scents. I know that fragrance is a really personal topic and it really all boils down to preference, but I just wanted to share my excitement over finally fining a fragrance that hasn’t yet bored me! I have discovered that I love Miss Dior Eau de Parfum.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the most budget-friendly scent. A one ounce bottle will set you back about $74. However, I think that I want this to become my new signature scent. My whole life, I’ve been obsessed with finding a signature scent. Fragrance memories are very powerful – how often do you smell a flower or food and feel transported back into a wonderful part of your past? I’ve always thought that having a signature scent might make me more memorable. In high school, my signature scent was Lucky You. It is very floral but fresh, and it made me feel more comfortable in my own skin. Then in college, I upgraded my signature scent to Gucci Guilty. This is the scent that made me feel like an adult. It’s a bold scent that made me feel more confident. I would wear it before meetings at works or workshops in school.
Now, I’m finding myself in a new place in life, and I feel like Miss Dior suits me better. It is both floral and fruity, and it’s strongest note is jasmine. It is a good blend of youth and maturity, and it does not smell musky or overly sugary. The smell evokes in me what I’m already feeling about myself. Instead of masking my insecurity with a fragrance that tricked me into feeling more confident, I can now just be myself.
Christmas is almost here! Are you excited? I sure am! I have already purchased oodles of Christmas presents for my loved ones and have started wrapping them. I also bribed Josh with hot chocolate and cookies so he would help me put up my tree and other decorations. While I used last year’s decorations this year, I still wanted to let you all in on a tip of where to go if you are still looking for inexpensive last-minute decorations: Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores!
Jo-Ann’s isn’t just a place to get deals on fabrics and yarn for crafting projects. They also have a lot of seasonal decorations. Unlike a lot of places that only put seasonal items on sale after the season has passed, this store typically had their seasonal items 50% off during the season. I don’t know how or why, but I do know that you should definitely take advantage of the deals! They have stockings and baubles and baking supplies and tiny trees and socks and so much more!
Now, if you’re all set already for this year, but you still want to take a look, expect the prices to drop to 70% off or more after Christmas!
