Glow Recipe Watermelon Jelly Sheet Mask

Dry skin is for sure in my future. The colder it gets, the more I’m going to need to nourish my skin to keep it from getting too dry. One of my favorite ways to do this is to use to intense masks. Recently, I had the opportunity to try the Glow Recipe Watermelon Jelly Sheet Mask. This product is $8 for a single-use mask, and it can be purchased from Sephora and similar retailers.

I really enjoyed using this mask! It feels very gelatinous but didn’t fall apart and stayed in place when in use. Part of this was due to the fact that it came in two pieces to allow for more precise application, which I thought was a really great feature.

After using this mask for about 30 minutes, my skin felt so moisturized and there was a definite glow. I took the mask off and rubbed the excess product into my skin. For me, it felt like a great night-time mask because my skin was so moisturized that it might have made immediate application difficult unless I washed my face (which felt like a waste since you want the product to continue absorbing post-mask).

Overall, I thought this was a really fun mask, and I’m glad I got to try it! It seems like the perfect addition for a spa day.

Feel Beauty Harmony Rose Petal Face Mask

It feels like it’s been a while since I reviewed a face mask! I looked through my samples and found one that looked interesting: the Feel Beauty Harmony Rose Petal Face Mask. This product retails online for $55.

This is a really nice gel face mask. It is rose-scented, and the scent seems super natural and not at all artificial. The gel has a great cooling sensation on the skin and works to gently moisturize the skin. This is a great, vegan, moisturizing mask that reminded me a lot of the Fresh Rose Face Mask. Overall, this is a fun mask for a spa day. It smells great and adds a boost of moisture. However, I don’t think I’ll be purchasing the full-size when this sample is up. There are so many cheaper rose mask options that seem to work just as well.

What is your favorite face mask scent? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!

Sunday Riley Space Race

It’s no secret that I still have acne even though I’m 27. The type of acne has definitely changed over the years. Now, it mostly seems hormonal (although I do find that certain greasy foods break me out a bit too). Because of my changing skincare needs, I decided to try some new kinds of products and buy the Sunday Riley Space Race collection which retails for $65 at Sephora.

This kit comes with three great Sunday Riley products that target acne. The products are not full-sized but they are large enough that you’ll probably be able to get about 2-3 months worth of use to help you make a decision before buying the very expensive full-sized versions.

The first product in this kit is the UFO Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil (the full-size retails for $80). This is my favorite of the three! It has some powerhouse ingredients like salicylic acid, tee tree oil, licorice, neroli, chamomile, and cucumber seed oil. This amazing combination is great at gently counteracting hormonal acne, moisturizing the skin, and fixing mild skin discoloration. This is a product I’ve used before and it’s very clear that it works for me, so I’ll definitely be purchasing the full-sized version when this one runs out. The only downside is that it smells strongly of oregano (which I don’t prefer) and my skin does tend to look a bit greasy if I use too much (which is why it is only part of my nighttime skincare routine).

The next product in this kit is the Martian Mattifying Melting Water-Gel Toner (the full-size retails for $55). I’m enjoying this product too! It comes out as a cooling green gel that blends really well into the skin. In my Sephora Haul Video, I joked that it kind of feels like alien snot (and I stand by that!) but I do love how it soothes my skin. It has some great ingredients: witch hazel, cucumber, black cumin, clay, marshmallow, and green tea. It feels extremely gentle on the skin and I like the cooling sensation too. It absorbs quickly into the skin and leaves my skin feeling both moisturized and mattified. I have combination skin where some bits feel dry but my t-zone can get oily, and this is just the perfect product for me because it moisturizes where I need it while combatting oil and creating a smooth canvas for my makeup. To be honest, I’ve replaced my morning moisturizer AND primer with this product, so I will definitely be purchasing the full-size version of this one too!

The final product in this kit is the Saturn Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask (the full-size retails for $55). This mask contains sulfur, tea tree oil, clay, and manuka oil to combat acne without drying the skin out too much. I will say that sulfur is an amazing ingredient for acne, and I do find that this one clears up stubborn zits pretty quickly if I use it as a spot treatment. I’ve also been pleasantly surprised that it hasn’t dried out my skin as many sulfur-based products do. However, I just can’t purchase the full-size version of this product. Sulfur smells awful, and I hoped that I’d be able to deal with it for the sake of my skin, but I just can’t. I hate getting a whiff of the scent even after I’ve washed it off, and the smell even lingers on the towel I use to dry my face after washing this off. Overall, it’s a great product, and it’s not Sunday Riley’s fault that sulfur naturally smells so bad, but I just have found that I can’t stomach it.

Sephora Holiday Sale Haul!

This was a great year for the Sephora Holiday Sale! I got some products that I am loving, so I just had to share a video with some of my thoughts and impressions (also, I think this thumbnail that YouTube picked is hilarious, so I kept it as is because I feel like it’s a pretty accurate facial expression for when I’m excited lol):

Here are the products mentioned in the video:

NARS Orgasm Infatuation Palette: This palette contains the Laguna bronzing powder, Orgasm blush, and Orgasm highlighting powder ($42).

Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette: This palette has 12 amazing eyeshadow shades in some gorgeous pinks, purples, and reds ($49).

Sunday Riley Space Race Collection: This set contains the Martian Mattifying Melting Water-Gel Toner, the UFO Acne Treatment Face Oil, and the Saturn Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask ($65).

I’m hoping to do more in-depth reviews after I’ve had more of a chance to play around with these products!

Did you participate in the holiday sale? What did you get?? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!

Caudalie Vine Body Butter

Confession time: I’ve just been using body butter/lotion after shaving. I know that I really should be moisturizing my whole body more often. I should treat it as respectfully as my face. But I’ve just been feeling kind of lazy. Anyway, in an attempt to do a better job at warding off dry skin this upcoming winter, I decided to invest in the Caudalie Vine Body Butter. This product is sold at Sephora and similar retailers for $34.

I can’t even imagine how long this is going to last! Just a teeny amount seems to cover so much. It’s a thick cream, but you need so little that it really does dry quickly. Also, it has a faint hint of grapeseed oil and grapefruit scent. I love it!

This product contains shea butter, so it’s extremely moisturizing. It’s also Certified Clean by Sephora, so it’s more natural than a lot of other skincare products. This is one reason why I love Caudalie as a brand!

I’m really pleased with this lotion! It’s definitely going to last me all winter – if not longer. I know my skin is going to really thank me (especially the rough bits around my elbows!)

Do you have a favorite body butter? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!

Boscia Matcha Magic Super-Antioxidant Mask

I love when I get samples of new masks to try. I adore a good face mask! Recently, I got a great sample from Boscia – the Boscia Matcha Magic Super-Antioxidant Mask. This product is sold at Sephora and similar retailers for $38.

First off, I love that this mask is BRIGHT GREEN. It’s perfect for Halloween! The color, of course, is caused by the ingredient of matcha green tea, which boasts a lot of skincare benefits. This mask claims to reduce redness and inflammation while minimizing pores and reducing excess oil.

Now, after I let this one dry, I was distressed by how difficult it was to scrub off. Of course, afterwards my skin looked more red from the scrubbing. However, overall, this seemed great for my skin. My pores definitely looked better and the next day, my skin seemed clearer and smoother. This product is also Certified Clean by Sephora, so it’s created without a lot of harmful ingredients found in other skincare products.

Overall, I think this is another great Boscia mask (although it isn’t going to replace my favorite – the black luminizing mask!)

Have you tried any masks by Boscia? If so, which is your favorite? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!

Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water

Micellar Waters are a great invention. They are one of the gentlest way to cleanse the skin and they don’t require any rinsing. I’ve tried so many on the market, and recently I decided to give the Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water a shot. This product is sold at Sephora and similar retailers for $14.

This is definitely my new favorite micellar water. It’s extremely gentle, but it is also very effective at cleansing (and even removing some makeup!) Some other micellar waters that I’ve tried have just felt like literally splashing my face with tap water, but this one actually works wonders. It leaves my skin feeling clean and nourished thanks to it’s powerful ingredients: organic grape water, chamomile extract, and plant glycerin. Overall, I just love this product and I’ll definitely be repurchasing. It’s not strong enough to use as my sole cleanser when wearing heavy eye makeup, but it’s become my go-to morning cleanser and part of my evening double cleanse (after a makeup-removing oil).

Have you tried a micellar water? If so, what was your experience? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!

Murad Acne Body Wash

I’m always trying to cultivate clearer skin. I have so many face products, but it occurred to me that I didn’t have anything for the rest of my body. Recently, I decided to try the Murad Acne Body Wash. This product is sold at Sephora and similar retailers for $40.

My fear when using this product was that the salicylic acid would dry out my skin, so I’ve been pleasantly surprised that that hasn’t happened. However, after about a month of use, I can’t say that I really see any difference in my skin. Sure, this is an adequate body wash, but it’s definitely not worth $40 since I don’t see any difference between how my skin reacts to this one versus a much cheaper body wash from the drugstore. I’ll keep using this one until it’s all out, but I definitely won’t be repurchasing.

Have you had any experience with this product? If so, be sure to let me know how it went in the comment section!

The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Lip Balm

As the weather turns cooler, I know it’s time to prevent chapped lips. Whether caused by cold weather or too much longwear lipstick, I know my lips tend to be dryer than I’d like them to be, so I am always on the lookout for the next best balm. Recently I was able to try the Antioxidant Lip Balm from The Organic Pharmacy. This product retails online for $21.50.

I am obsessed with this balm now! It’s exceptionally nourishing and moisturizing without ever feeling even a bit sticky. It has some amazing ingredients too: shea butter, vitamin e oil, castor oil, cocoa butter, honey, pomegranate, and rose hips. Since using this product regularly, my lips feel smoother, more supple, and never dry. I can’t wait to use this one all winter long. I highly recommend it!

Have you used this product or do you have a different favorite lip balm? Be sure to let  me know in the comment section!

Sunday Riley Luna Night Oil

Acne is so annoying, but it’s even more annoying trying to find a product that can combat it well. There are lots of acne-fighting ingredients on the market, but they just don’t work for everyone. It takes some trial and error to see what will work for you. Thankfully, I’ve discovered that products with blue tansy seem to really help my skin, so I was excited when I was sent a deluxe sample of the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil which contains blue tansy. This product is sold at Sephora and similar retailers for $105.

I’m not going to lie, I definitely wanted to hate this product because of the steep price tag. Unfortunately, like most Sunday Riley products, it was actually fantastic. Even after one use, my skin looked clearer and more radiant. Over time, my acne has started improving, and my pores look less noticeable. It even helped my dry skin. Literally the only thing I can complain about with this product (besides the price) is the smell. I can’t quite describe the scent, but it’s definitely nearing rancid. Thankfully, you get used to it after a few minutes.

Well, I guess I’m just going to have to surrender and start investing more in Sunday Riley. This is a dark day for my wallet.

Have you tried this product or something else from Sunday Riley? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!
