Caudalie Vine Body Butter

Confession time: I’ve just been using body butter/lotion after shaving. I know that I really should be moisturizing my whole body more often. I should treat it as respectfully as my face. But I’ve just been feeling kind of lazy. Anyway, in an attempt to do a better job at warding off dry skin this upcoming winter, I decided to invest in the Caudalie Vine Body Butter. This product is sold at Sephora and similar retailers for $34.

I can’t even imagine how long this is going to last! Just a teeny amount seems to cover so much. It’s a thick cream, but you need so little that it really does dry quickly. Also, it has a faint hint of grapeseed oil and grapefruit scent. I love it!

This product contains shea butter, so it’s extremely moisturizing. It’s also Certified Clean by Sephora, so it’s more natural than a lot of other skincare products. This is one reason why I love Caudalie as a brand!

I’m really pleased with this lotion! It’s definitely going to last me all winter – if not longer. I know my skin is going to really thank me (especially the rough bits around my elbows!)

Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water

Micellar Waters are a great invention. They are one of the gentlest way to cleanse the skin and they don’t require any rinsing. I’ve tried so many on the market, and recently I decided to give the Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water a shot. This product is sold at Sephora and similar retailers for $14.

This is definitely my new favorite micellar water. It’s extremely gentle, but it is also very effective at cleansing (and even removing some makeup!) Some other micellar waters that I’ve tried have just felt like literally splashing my face with tap water, but this one actually works wonders. It leaves my skin feeling clean and nourished thanks to it’s powerful ingredients: organic grape water, chamomile extract, and plant glycerin. Overall, I just love this product and I’ll definitely be repurchasing. It’s not strong enough to use as my sole cleanser when wearing heavy eye makeup, but it’s become my go-to morning cleanser and part of my evening double cleanse (after a makeup-removing oil).

Have you tried a micellar water? If so, what was your experience? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!

Caudalie Energizing and Smoothing Eye Cream

I seem to always have dark circles under my eyes. I’m sure part of it is genetic (as an aunt so rudely pointed out once as she traumatized my 16-year-old self), but it’s probably also caused by lack of sleep and not drinking enough water. Anyway, I’m obsessed with religiously applying eye cream, and I’m always trying new ones. Recently, I purchased the Caudalie Energizing and Smoothing Eye Cream. This product is sold at Sephora and similar retailers for $39.

While I love Caudalie, I’m not loving this product. It’s main ingredient is Vitamin C, which is great for brightening. However, after about a month of using this product, I’ve seen very little difference in my under eye region. My dark circles look about the same, but this also does not seem to smooth the area at all. It’s not even a teeny bit nourishing or moisturizing, so it just doesn’t fill in and saturate the area. Essentially, there seems to be very little difference when I use this vs. when I don’t use this when it comes to makeup application.

Overall, I found this to be a pretty disappointing eye cream. I’ve used much better eye creams that were much cheaper from the drugstore. So, I guess it’s back to my quest to find the holy grail of eye creams.

Caudalie Glycolic Peel

I’ve had a few experiences with at-home chemical peels, and mostly they’ve been unpleasant. My skin is pretty sensitive, but my hormonal acne responds really well to the AHA found in most DIY chemical peels. Still, a lot of chemical peels are quite abrasive on the skin and end up creating more problems than they solve. Still, I decided to try the Caudalie Glycolic Peel which is a 10-minute mask with a lot of AHA to exfoliate the skin and slough off the top layer of skin over time. This product can be purchased at Sephora and similar retailers for $39.

I really love this product! It’s so gentle compared to similar products. I can put this on my skin and leave it on for more than the 10 minutes it suggests and there will still be no burning or redness. It’s extra gentle but still effective.

I’ve been using it two or three times a week for about a month now, and I’ve already seen a huge difference in the clarity and texture of my skin! While it didn’t quite get rid the hormonal acne that comes right before my period, it did a great job of minimizing my pores and improving my complexion during most of the month. My skintone looks more even and some of my acne scars even seem less noticeable.

Another benefit is the scent. Mostly, it doesn’t really have a scent, which is great. A lot of times, AHA creams have a very strong, unpleasant odor (like the Herbivore Blue Tansy mask).

Overall, I’m just thrilled with this product. I’m trying to make sure I don’t overuse it and just stick to the recommended two or three times a week. But so far, so good! I can see a great improvement in my skin and I’m hoping this continues.

Have you tried this product or any other at-home chemical peel? Be sure to tell me about your experience in the comment section!

Caudalie Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil

I’m excited to announce that I have a new favorite way to remove my makeup: the Caudalie Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil. This product is sold at Sephora and similar retailers for $28.

There’s just something about cleansing oils that gently cuts through tough eye makeup in order to truly remove every trace. I was loving the Clinique balm, but I found that it was irritating my eyes somewhat. Every so often, my eyes would really burn after I’d removed my makeup, even if I tried to rinse everything out afterwards. Because of this, I thought I’d look for a new oil and I ended up buying this Caudalie one because I’ve been loving the Caudalie brand.

I’m really glad that I went with this product! It is so gentle but removes even really thick black liquid eyeliner and waterproof mascara with ease. It’s easy to rinse off, and I’ve never had any burning eyes after using it. Best of all, it doesn’t seem to break me out at all either. It’s the perfect first step for a double cleanse.

Do you use cleansing oil to remove your makeup? If so, what’s your favorite one? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!

The Allure Beauty Box for August 2018 has arrived! This is one of my favorite beauty box subscription services. For just $15 a month, you’ll get deluxe samples and some full-sized beauty products. I love that it’s a blend of drugstore and luxury products too.

This month’s box came with some really great stuff!

First off, we have the Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet which retails for $39. This is a product I’ve used and reviewed before. It’s a fantastic lightweight moisturizer that is just perfect for sensitive skin. I highly recommend it!

Next, we have the Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner which retails for $22. This is a cult favorite, but I haven’t tried it yet. I really hope it lives up to the hype.

I also received the Laritzy Cosmetics Light Stix in Halo which retails for $24. I had never heard of this brand before, but so far this has been a really great highlighter stick that blends so smoothly.

Another favorite that I’ve already reviewed is the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask which retails for $20 and is worth every penny. It’s the best intensive balm I have ever used!

Next up is the Nexxus Keraphix Damage Healing Shampoo and Conditioner which retail for $17.99 a piece. I have damaged hair from too much heat and processing with dye, so I’m excited to try these for sure!

Lastly, I received a $30 off coupon for Breda, a niche watch retailer I had never heard of before. I’ve spent some time browsing their website, and there are some great options, although I’m not sure if I’ll end up getting one.

What do you think of these products? Have you tried any of them before? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!

VIB members use the code “yayvib” for 15% off during April 20-23.

I’ve already made my purchases, since Rouge members get a few early dates, and here’s what I purchased:

The Bare Minerals bareSkin Perfecting Veil Finishing Powder – I’ve been a bit oilier lately and my acne’s been worse, so I needed a pressed powder which I feel is easier to layer over problem skin than loose powder.

Make Up Forever Full Coverage Concealer – Again, with the acne I need something heavy-duty to help cover up.

Sunday Riley The Influencer Clean Long Wear Foundation – This brand has a major cult following and I’ve been so excited to try this new foundation!

Dior Addict Lip Lacquer – I’m obsessed with Dior lip products, so I have to try all their new ones! And this one has major glitter…

Caudalie Instant Detox Mask – This is an amazing, gentle mask that can be used every day and is fantastic for acne. You can read my full review here.

Herbivore Blue Tansy AHA + BHA Resurfacing Clarity Mask – This mask is also amazing for acne. I initially didn’t love it because of the smell, but I was won over by how it helped my skin. You can read my full review here.

Caudalie Eye Lifting Balm

I love Caudalie, so I was excited to receive a new product from them to review, but I do feel the need for a disclaimer: I am 26, so I don’t really need an eye lifting balm quite yet (hopefully!) Still, I was happy to test and try to give some thoughts on the Caudalie Eye Lifting Balm which retails from Sephora and similar retailers for $62 for 0.05 oz.

At this point in my life, I’m more concerned with dark circles and dryness under my eyes instead of wrinkles, but I still love an eye cream. I’ve been using eye cream since I was 16 because prevention is definitely important. This Caudalie product was awesome. It was a thin enough consistency that it dried quickly and didn’t leave me looking oily under the eye. I could tell that it really moisturized well though. It left my undereye area feeling really smooth too.

Overall, I really liked this eye cream. I can’t verify it’s lifting claims and I don’t know how it would help wrinkles, but I am hopefully that it would work pretty well because my undereye was noticeably smoother after use. I think this is another great product from Caudalie.

Caudalie Instant Detox Mask

It’s no secret that I’m a sucker for a face mask. They always make me feel so pampered, and I love trying new ones! Recently, I tried the Caudalie Instant Detox Mask which retails for $39 from Sephora and similar retailers.

I have to admit that I’ve already used up my entire deluxe sample because I LOVED this one! This variation of a mud mask is so awesome. It’s good for sensitive, oily, and dry skin because it’s very gentle and doesn’t really impact your PH balance. Rather, it just gently removes toxins from your pores by drawing them out with the mud. Your skin will feel softer afterwards, but it won’t feel dry or even more moisturized. This is a really great mask for people like me who have acne, and I definitely noticed an improvement in my skin with this product.

The main ingredient in this one is pink clay (the mud feature) but it also has some other ingredients that are great for clearer skin like coffee, grape extract, and papaya enzymes. It’s filled with skincare goodness, and your skin will thank you for using this one! I really have to pick up more next time I put in a Sephora order because I miss it. It’s gentle enough to even use daily, which lets you feel constantly pampered.

What is your favorite mask? Please, let me know in the comment section because you know I’m always looking for another one!

Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet

‘Tis the season for dry skin! I don’t know about where you live, but in Cincinnati we unfortunately skipped autumn this year and went straight to winter. The cold air is already causing dry skin, so I wanted to use this opportunity to talk about one of my very favorite moisturizers: the Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet (available from Sephora for $39 for a 1.3 oz container).

I love this moisturizer so much, that I’ve purchased the full-sized version several times, and I also use my Sephora Beauty Insider points to score sample-sized bottles, and I get excited when I see this appear in my Sephora Play beauty box as well! I’m definitely devoted to this one! One of the great things about this moisturizer is that a little bit goes a long way, so the price tag isn’t that scary when I consider how much use I get out of one bottle. Also, this product never breaks out my skin! It’s super natural and smells of grapeseed oil (one of its main ingredients).

I find that this moisturizer works well year-round. You can use a small amount in the summer and a larger amount in the winter for a great year-round glow. It sinks in so easily and doesn’t leave a weird oily residue like some moisturizers tend to do. Overall, I’ve just found that this is one of the very best moisturizers for my particular skin (which is combination that tends toward oilness sometimes). Now, I will admit that if you have very dry skin, this might not be the best product for you because it’s a lighter moisturizer, but I think you’ll like this one if you have skin like mine!
