Kerastase Discipline Anti-Frizz Smoothing Spray

As I’m searing for the perfect hair products, I’ve been trying out the brand Kerastase. While I don’t care for the price tag, and I’m still not entirely sure it’s worth it, I have enjoyed using the Kerastase Discipline Anti-Frizz Smoothing Spray. This product is sold at Sephora and similar retailers for $37.

First off, I love the smell of this product. It definitely smells like a hair salon mixed with a hint of floral. Also, this has worked wonders at adding shine and combatting frizz in my hair. I typically apply this on wet hair, but it’s light enough that I could use it sparingly on dry hair if I really needed to.

Any time I use this product, I see  a huge difference once my hair is dried. It does weigh the hair down just a bit, so don’t expect any extra volume, but I do love all the extra shine!

Overall, I’m pleased with this product, but I don’t think it’s quite enough for me to repurchase since the price is rather high for a hair product.

What product do you use to add shine and lessen frizz? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!

Thanks for reading!

Lunatic Fringe Salon – Sharonville

Today, I just wanted to talk about my great experience at the Lunatic Fringe Salon in Sharonville. It had been a year and three months since I’d had my hair cut – life just got so busy and I was enjoying how long it was getting. But I finally reached a point where it was getting really hard to dye with only one box of dye and I was noticing the split ends a lot, so I knew it was time to get a hair cut. My anxiety has been really bad lately, and I got to a place where I was anxious about how I looked knowing that I needed a haircut, but I was just as anxious at the thought of trying a new hair salon. I decided that this would be a good opportunity to force myself to try something new instead of waiting for an appointment at my usual place. (That may not make sense to everyone – but when my anxiety is really bad, giving in to it often makes it worse, so I wanted to fight back a little).

There’s a convenient online form on Lunatic Fringe’s website, which made setting up the appointment a breeze. On Wednesday morning, I used the form to request an appointment after work that day, and I received a confirmation email pretty quickly. I love how easy it was to book the appointment because that made it impossible for me to chicken out and give in to my anxiety.

I arrived a few minutes early and was greeted by the owner Greg, who seemed like such a genuinely nice guy. He offered me a complimentary beverage (they have wine and water and more), which I thought was really nice customer service and really exemplified the customer-focused atmosphere. I then met my stylist Paige who was so lovely. She immediately asked me about my sparkly nail polish and showed me her own pink sparkly nails, and I felt immediately at ease. She is the kind of person who seems to take a genuine interest in others, and I really enjoyed our conversations throughout the appointment. Immediately, my last bit of anxiety at getting a haircut just melted away.

Paige took me to the lather lounge, a separate room used for shampooing, and used their new Kerastase products on my hair. These products smelled so nice and really left my hair feeling smooth and tangle-free. She also did a complimentary hair mask which felt luxurious. She did an amazing job at cutting my hair and the results were exactly what I wanted – still as long as possible but with no split ends. Now, days later, my hair still feels amazing from the products, and I’m seriously considering buying the shampoo she used on my hair: Kerastase Bain Magistral. (Tip: if you get this shampoo, you really only need a small amount. A little goes a really long way, so the container will probably last quite a while).

The salon as a whole just had a really nice ambiance. Everything seemed warm and inviting. The space itself was so clean and well-lit. They are really reasonably priced (my haircut was $40). They sell Paul Mitchell and Kerastase products as well as Jane Iredale makeup. Everyone there seemed so friendly. Their website states, “Our guests leave the salon as a member of the Lunatic Fringe family, with the knowledge and tools needed to recreate their style at home. We serve the community by going above and beyond to provide exceptional service and quality results during every guest experience.” This was absolutely true. I felt so comfortable at this salon, and I’m thrilled with the results. If you need a haircut and are in the Greater Cincinnati Area, I highly recommend this place. You won’t be disappointed!
