I’m such a sucker for a statement necklace. I don’t tend to wear a lot of jewelry, so when I decide to wear some, I really want it to stand out. Recently, while shopping for statement necklaces, I found this amazing one: the Marchesa Crystal Frontal Necklace, which can be purchased at Nordstrom for $88.
I love the vintage-inspired shapes and detailing. Also, I love that it’s more of a dark grey/black metal rather than a silver. It gives it a darker edge and makes it seem even older. Overall, I just really love this statement necklace! It’s dramatic generally, but it’s not so over-the-top that it will be a struggle to pair it with an outfit.
I am definitely partial to silver when buying metallic and glittery things, but I’m starting to really love rose gold too (as long as it’s very pink-heavy like these shoes!) I also love the soft pink ribbon here. These are great shoes for running errands with a little flair!
This jumpsuit is gorgeous! It looks so streamlined and slimming, and the multi-colored sequins are absolutely mesmerizing. I feel like this jumpsuit is the ultimate jumpsuit, and I really wish I could pull it off. Unfortunately, at 5’2″, there’s just no way that this would be right with my proportions. I wonder if it comes in a romper?
Would you be brave enough to wear this jumpsuit? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!
One final note…tomorrow is December 1st, which means I’ll be starting Blogmas! This year, I have Sephora’s (sold-out) Enchanted Castle advent calendar, so stay tuned for 24 days of short reviews/videos all about this advent calendar!
Happy Black Friday!! Are you looking forward to all the holiday sales? What are you going to buy?
I have had my eye on some special earrings for a while now: the Kate Spade Mini Small Square Stud Earrings which retail at Nordstrom for only $32. I’m not normally a fan of gold, but I love this glitter/color combination.
I feel like these are small enough to wear everyday if I wanted to, but they’re also really festive, so they would be great for a holiday party too! What can I say, I’m such a sucker for glitter!
Be sure to use the comment section to tell me what you’re excited to buy this Black Friday! I hope everyone find some great deals!
The weather is getting cooler, so it’s definitely time to think about winter coats. I tend to gravitate towards moto jackets, so I wanted to try to branch out for this post and find a different style of coat. While browsing Nordstrom’s website, I found this gem: the J. Crew Olga Boiled Wool Topcoat in red which retails for $270.
Before we get into the review, I do have two random thoughts:
When did Nordstrom start selling J. Crew things?
Whose idea was it to call this gorgeous coat the “Olga Boiled Wool Topcoat” which sounds terrible?
Anyway, on to the real review!
First, the color is beautiful! This vibrant red is sure to make you stand out! Also, I think the black buttons are a great addition since they contrast nicely with the red. The overall cut and length of the coat seem very fashion forward, and it’s sure to keep you really warm! My only fear is that petite gals like myself might find the length a bit unflattering. Finally, those pockets are deep enough to carry so many secrets and all your extra stuff!
Would you wear a coat this length or do you prefer a different style? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!
Welcome to another Fashion Friday! I am fully entrenched in the holiday spirit, and every time I shop online, I keep searching for fun things that would stand out at a holiday party. Recently, on Nordstrom’s website, I found these gorgeous shoes: the Halogen X Atlantic-Pacific Anastasia Double Strap Flats which retail for $99.95.
First, I LOVE the fact that glitter is pink hued. The rosie tint is super pretty and sure to stand out. I also adore the two straps adorned with tiny pearls in the corners. The embellishments and straps make these seem classier than the average ballet flat. Finally, the pointed toe really pulls the look together. Overall, I am obsessed with these shoes!

It looks like Moto jackets are still going to be popular this autumn and winter, which is great since I still have a gorgeous one from Banana Republic. However, while I was looking at Nordstrom, I realized that it might be nice to get one in a fun color that isn’t black, white, or grey. That’s when I spotted the BLANKNYC Meant to Be Moto Jacket with Removable Hood which retails for $98 and comes in this stunning shade of green.
First off, I’m glad the hood is removable because I would definitely want to remove it. The hood looks a bit bulky and makes the jacket look more casual than classy. Either way, I love the edginess that a moto jacket lends to a look (even though it’s subtle). With this green shade, you’d be sure to stand out. Honestly, though, this is a great twist on a neutral. It would still go with pretty much everything since it’s a darker green.
Do you have a favorite moto jacket or is this not the trend for you? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!
Welcome to another installment of Fashion Friday! I’ve been thinking about the boots that I still have from last year. I have so many ankle boots and mid-calf boots, but I want something high and dramatic this year. I was looking at Nordstrom and now I’m in love with the Steve Madden Brinkley Over the Knee Stretch Boot which retails for $130.
I love that this boot is stretchy because my calves are not the slimmest. I also love the teeny heel and the overall elegant shape of the boot. I could definitely see myself wear these with jeans or even a shorter dress. They are suede, so they wouldn’t be appropriate for snow unless I got them treated. Still, I think these need to make their way into my winter wardrobe!
What boots are you considering for the upcoming winter? Be sure to let me know in the comment section!
I feel like I’m a lot more comfortable with makeup than I am fashion. I’m still perfecting my person aesthetic when it comes to clothes, and I think that part of it is caused by my general discomfort with my current weight. Accessorizing is so much easier (and more forgiving) than actual clothes. Still, as I’m searching for pieces for my Fashion Friday installments, I am always drawn to lace and things that are vintage-inspired. That’s probably why I’m now obsessed with the Bardot Alice Lace Body-Con Dress which is available at Nordstrom for $149.
I love that this dress is sexy but mysterious. The geometric cutouts are fascinating and remind me of Art Deco art and architecture from the 1920s. Also, the nude fabric and black lace work so well together. If I had a different body, I would absolutely buy this one. The only thing that I don’t love is the high neckline. I would much prefer a scoop neck.
Would you wear this piece or do you have a favorite vintage-inspired brand to share? Be sure to let me know your thoughts in the comment section!
I’m a sucker for a tote bag – my closets are filled with them. But I’m just the kind of person who likes to carry a lot of stuff at all times. I always want to keep my kindle, makeup bag, and a small knitting project with me, so I typically only use smaller purses for special occasions when it would be cumbersome to have a big bag. So, recently, I was browsing Nordstrom and saw this amazing tote bag that I really want: the Longchamp Large Le Pliage Croc Print Tote which retails for $250.
Longchamp is an iconic brand, and their sturdy bags are close to legendary. I’d love to have one someday, especially one like this that is more grey, silver, and black in tone. I feel like almost all of the Longchamp bags I see are brown (and I don’t buy things that are brown – I don’t have anything against it, but it’s just not a color used in my personal styling). So, this was an exciting find! I’m also such a fan of things that are croc-embossed.
Another huge plus is that the top zips completely! I find that so many tote bags just have a button snap clasp which leaves gaping sides so that things can fall out really easily if the bag is tipped over. I would much prefer a bag like this that zips completely. It does influence the general shape of the bag and makes it seem less roomy, but that’s a small price to pay for the general feeling of security.
